No Thank You:)
I read A LOT of blogs and it seems like quite a few people have started a Fabric Diet or have taken a pledge to only use their stash fabrics in 2011.
I completely understand where they are coming from, but I think it is possible to achieve the same objective by DONATING, ORGANIZING & BUYING SMARTER instead of not buying at all.
Over the next few weeks I will be writing a series called STASH MANAGEMENT that will cover the following topics and more!
:: Sorting and Organizing your stash + scraps to be a more inspired and effective sewer/quilter.
:: Supply and Demand---why we must continue to support Local Quilt Shops, Designers and Authors.
:: CONSUMERS--Why we buy and how to purchase effectively (Impulse vs. Needs and Wants)
:: Donating fabric, Charity Quilting and Quilt Auctions
:: Selling and Swapping Fabrics
:: Quilting is an ART and we need tools:)
Please join me in supporting those who provide us with the tools + inspiration to do what we love!

I'm with you! I try to be a little smarter when I buy, but I consider it my own personal stimulus package!

I know better than to commit to something like that! Buying helps fulfill my crafting urge when time doesn't allow. I am excited to read your posts though. We could all use some tips and tricks to get more for our money!

Kristina, I am sure those of us who are trying not to buy any fabric this year have learned we can do with out for a while rather than try and just buy one or half dozen "new" things. And we took the pledge for a year..... not three not life, just to get our finances under control....
So do not fear, we will continue to support the LQS.
