NO baby yet! Just a big belly:) 37 weeks today, so we're guaranteed a new little lady in the next couple weeks, Sept. 17th at the latest!!! I have been a madwomen--cleaning, organizing, sorting. Finally feeling "ready" for this little one. There is plenty to do in the next two weeks, but if she decides to arrive early I'll feel fully prepared with a stocked pantry, fridge, clean house, etc....Did I mention I have completely caught up on my scrapbooking too?! It's been a very productive summer, so I'll be just fine doing nothing and holding my munchkin for a few months:)
Did I ever show you my "new" studio organization? Probably not...I've had the stuff since January and finally had the motivation to organize everything into its appropriate spot, see:
(Ikea shelving--stores most of my quilting/scrapbooking/art supplies--best investment EVER!)
(Ironing table and current projects in the works)
(Favorite cubby--all Anna Maria Horner Fabric--check out the sneak peek of Innocent Crush-YUM!!!)
(Cutting table, sewing table + desk in the background)
(Little scrap bins, sorted by color, I got pretty serious about this "NESTING" thing!)
Also, got my new FALL QUILT back from the quilter this week. I AM SO IN LOVE. It's all the leftovers from my various Fall Projects, very scrappy with a pieced back, bound in my favorite fabric ever, Brown/Gold Polka Dot:) Still need to hand sew the binding down, but all the hard stuff is done!
(Quilt Front)
(Pieced Back--yardage and fat quarters)
(Super Cute Quilting--anyone know where I can find MORE of the blue leaf fabric? I am obsessed!!!)
Pretty sure I promised a giveaway last Friday and I am finally getting around to posting about it. So, here's the deal: leave a comment about your favorite fall tradition and you'll be entered to win this cute little solids quilt AND some big yummy fabric scraps--funky, colorful, girly!
(the circles one hanging in the window)
Good luck! I'll pick a winner early next week! Assumming I DO NOT have a baby this weekend, next week I'll be doing a FALL FABRIC PREVIEW...fun lines coming to Quilted Treasures this Fall and a STITCH MAGAZINE, Fall Issue Review and GIVEAWAY!!! Stop back soon, have an amazing Labor Day Weekend with family and friends!
Best, Kristina
Well, I live in LA now, but am from the Midwest...so I miss everything about fall! The slight chill in the air, all of the trees turning brilliant colors, football games, etc etc. In college, one of my friends would always go to the Arbor Lodge (Nebraska City, NE) and bring back fresh apple cider - YUM YUM YUM!

My favorite fall tradition (past six years) is to walk in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk around Lake Nakomis with my son and daughter-in-law.

Getting together with friends on a Tuesday night in October to celebrate fall and our friendship. We decorate for fall, eat soup, drink cocoa and apple cider and have way too many pumpkin and apple spice desserts.

Love the colors. Well, we go to the Fall Festival...does that count? With 5 kids that is something they love to look forward to every year. They participate in creating the festival at school then get to go and enjoy it. :0) Seeing them all run around in there is pretty special. They love getting to see their friends and talk to their friends parents too. The laughter is priceless.
Thanks for the chance in the drawing. :0)
I love your studio. Absolutely love it! I wish I had my own space. The new little lady will be here before you know it. I miss the part of being pregnant...well, except for the miserable part toward the end.

September is the month in which Summer finally begins to die in Miami. I know this happens everywhere else to but here we go from sweltering heat to moderate heat. Summer heat in Miami really takes over about six months of the year. So in September my favorite tradition is not sweating through my clothes every time I step out onto the streets, going to the beach with out the danger of heat stroke and enjoy the few cool fall breezes we do get. AMAZING studio, it just looks wonderful!

Fall tradition? I live in Hawaii & can't think of a single one! I think if I have to fudge it, I'd say Univ of Hawaii football! Go Warriors!

OH how I envy your design studio! It's wonderful!
A fall tradition I adore is the Pumpkin Parade. We sit on the front lawn, watch as the floats go by, and sip apple cider and eat chili!

Oh, to have my sewing projects so neat, your room is great! A tradition I have in my classroom is to have my students do leaf rubbings, paint leaves and to cut out paper leaves for a bulletin board. The painted ones hang from the ceiling, and the open door allows a breeze to put them in motion.

Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year, so any tradition in that time frame makes me happy. But I will say that I love raking and jumping into piles of leaves. Thanks for the giveaway.

The first weekend in October, we have an art fair that is one of the best (St. James). My husband and I go first thing on Sunday morning. We grab coffee and look at all the wonderful items.

Oh I love this solids quilt! I'm excited! :-)
My favorite fall tradition is attending our local "Taste of the Town" where a ton of local restaurants set up booths at the convention center and you buy tickets to purchase little bits of food from each vendor. Yummy!

My favorite fall tradition is visiting Apple Hill in Northern California. Love your organization! With all your "nesting" you seem to be doing...Baby Girl should be on her way very soon!

Your studio is beautiful! Good luck with the new baby too.
My favorite fall tradition is to open up the windows for the fresh air - I so look forward to opening up the windows in the house and shutting off the air conditioning. It sounds crazy, but just that simple thing makes me happy!

Love the studio! My favorite Fall tradition is football... it means my favorite season is here; cooler weather has arrived; it's a time of renewal and commitment to myself; and perhaps most importantly, my husband cooks really wonderful food on Sundays as he watches it:)
