Welcome back! Thanks for stopping by for PART TWO of Organizing by Size and Color! This whole process actually took me A LOT longer than I anticipated, hence the delay, BUT I do have some useful tips before your get started...
1. Keep in mind that it doesn't ALL have to get done in one sitting.
2. Move the fabrics that need to be sorted to a common area of your home, so you can do a little here and there.
3. It is helpful to have 2 bins handly for sorting purposes...the first for scraps you'd like to keep and put into scrap bins later and also a bin for fabrics you are DONE with a.k.a. ready to giveaway or donate or swap!
STEP ONE: Put fabrics in piles by color.
STEP TWO: Take each color pile and break that up into 3 parts= keep/scraps/donate
note: These are my Fat Quarters and Half Yards...anything that didn't meet that requirement went into the scrap or donate bins. I like to know that if I am pulling fabrics for a project, there is at least a FQ there:)
Here's what made the cut...
Whew! That took FOREVER!
These are the scrap bins I organized last summer (all supplies from Target). Usually when finishing a project, I'll sort scraps so they don't pile up. However, now I will take the bin of scraps (from sorting FQ's) and put them in their COLOR SCRAP BIN--confused yet??
All of my "everyday" FQ's and Half Yards...
and my 1+ yard piles by color...
Here are some fabrics that I am done with and would LOVE to pass on to someone who would love AND use them! All you have to do is leave a comment and tell me..
DO YOU KEEP SCRAPS? ARE THEY SORTED? HOW?
Good Luck! Winner will be chosen on Tuesday:)
Have a great weekend!!!
